Built in the place where a Renaissance palace existed, the Convent of the Congregates obtained permission from D. Pedro II for its construction in 1697. Its project, attributed to João Antunes, the same author of the Church of Santa Engrácia in Lisbon, is one of the examples that reflects the Italian influence in the Baroque 16th century Portuguese.
Located in Santo André, Estremoz.
Of note is the importance and good artistic trait of the tile panels of the porter and the walls that accompany the staircase up to the first floor of the convent, attributed to the school of the Bernardes.
