This park is one of the most representative and unique natural areas in the central area of ​​the country. Located in the middle of the Cordillera de la Costa, it was created in 1967 occupying an area of ​​8000 hectares. It is characterized by having one of the last Chilean palm forests, a species in danger of extinction. In addition, its attractions include the heights of the hills La Campana (ideal for climbing) and El Roble; there are vestiges of ancient settlers, mining remains and beautiful and interesting trails to travel at any time of the year.

The park is endowed with special picnic and camping areas, equipped with the necessary services and infrastructure so that visitors can enjoy the park and not damage its ecosystem.

If what you want is a more comfortable stay, the cities of Olmué, Limache, Villa Alemana and Viña del Mar, all very close, have a wide range of hotels.

Santiago-Olmué: land, public or private route. By private vehicle you can access Olmué in two ways. The first is to the north, take Route 5 North, then Route 60, arriving in Limache and Olmué (the road is paved in its entirety). The second consists of taking Route 5 North and then the detour to Til-Til (up to here the road is paved), following Olmué along a road that has some gravelled kilometers.

Santiago-Ocoa: take Route 5 North, take the detour at kilometer 100, continue for 12.5 km until the entrance to the park.







Perhaps it is because of the location, the beauty or the physical challenge posed by its geography, that this park receives many visits throughout the year, even during winter: families, schools, mountaineers, climbers, etc.



The queen of the activities that can be done in this park is undoubtedly trekking or walking. For practitioners of this activity, there are more trails than those mentioned above, with varied difficulty and objective. And if someone does not want to walk, horse riding turns out to be an equally ecological alternative.
