Nel 1926 fu posata la prima pietra dell'attuale cappella e da allora ha funzionato come luogo di raccoglimento e preghiera per la comunità di detenuti della prigione femminile che gli era vicina.
I punti salienti includono una copia dipinta di La Piedad, bellissime statue di angeli francesi e vetrate colorate, e infine, la sua architettura interna a forma di croce, progettata appositamente per servire i detenuti all'inizio del secolo scorso
