En 1926, la première pierre de la chapelle actuelle a été posée. Depuis, elle sert de lieu de recueillement et de prière pour la communauté des condamnés de la prison pour femmes qui se trouvait à proximité.
Parmi les points saillants, citons une copie peinte de La Piedad, de belles statues d’anges français et de vitraux, et enfin son architecture intérieure en forme de croix, conçue spécialement pour servir les détenus au début du siècle dernier.
