The Fort of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios de Fernando de Noronha is located to the north of the island of Fernando de Noronha.

In dominant position on the anchorage in the bay of Santo Antônio, was constituted in the main structure of defense of the island and the archipelago.

Under the command of Lieutenant Colonel João Lobo de Lacerda, with a project by Diogo da Silveira Veloso, the Forte dos Remédios was built in stone and lime masonry.

An English map of the island of Fernando de Noronha of the year 1793, already exhibits the fort of Remédios next to the old town.

Be sure to visit and enjoy the beautiful landscapes that you can admire from the top of the fort.

To get to the fort you need to walk for about 20 minutes along the old stone street.
